The Virtual Wall . . .

I think most of the regulars here know how I feel about war and those who orchestrate it so I will avoid elaborating in any great degree. How I feel about the youth of our culture dying for reasons 99% of them never really have the luxury to understand, is entirely different.

You may be surprised to see some of the names on the wall from your area, especially if like me you live near a small town. Two of the four names from our town of Bonham, Texas are from families I know, and had no idea they each gave a son to that rotten war. The men and women who fought that war on the front lines did so admirably and for varied reasons and I take my hat off to them -there's no disgrace in doing what one believes is right. For the McNamara's and the LBJ's - I have no kind words.

+10 from another 'Nam Vet. I actually laughed when McNamara did it down his leg a few years back!

I'm a vet Roger but I missed that one by a couple of years. I was 16 when it ended.

Thankfully I was born a little too late, unlike those 58,195 souls whose names are carved in the wall. Regardless of the politics I thank them, and I thank you for your service and for what you went through.

Thank you for your service as well TT. Glad you missed my war. Too bad we couldn't miss them all, but somebody always has to disagree with the color of the shirt the other guy is wearing.
