snake identification course.

There has been a little talk about snakes around lately, and having the vast knowledge of wildlife that I have. I have decided to offer anyone, that isn't quite sure what species they are dealing with, a little help......

In the south we use a 2 step method.....if its on the ground, its a rattlesnake

If its in the water, its a water moccasin.....

If its alive its poisonous ..

There you are, on the house.

A+++ on class. Itchy-California- It is a pity and it seems that most of country is on same path. It does not help that we are struggling out here economically and a perverted bum like Weiner gets to go out on paid($180,000 a yr) leave while he spends taxpayers money on counselling(I wonder what the hooker counseler name is) sorry for the rant but either you or I would be fired and lucky not to be in jail. I guess the insainity must go on.

I expect to see one soon, I keep smelling snake near the door to my shop, a raised building with plenty of knot holes in the wooden floor... One of those things living in south Louisiana!

We have a similar system here in Seattle.

If it's on the ground it's a garter snake
if it's in the water it's a discarded piece of rubber tubing.
If it's alive it's a garter snake.

A little different in my area. If it's on the ground and goes the other way it lives, if it's in the water and it leaves me alone it lives, otherwise they all die.

I think they are refering to reptilian snakes, not the kind you are refering to.

Does this forum have a COC policy -- if yes -- is it ever enforced?

By COC I take it you mean Chain Of Command. What does enforcing a COC policy have to do with anything that has been posted here?

Most forums have a "Code of Conduct" for posting in a tread.
Some restrict political and religious comments.

You ask a good question "have to do with anything that has been posted here?" There was no reason this person to post in this thread.

This tread started on a funny note about snakes. Then out of no where an opinion was stated about our government a somewhat truth but still a mean statement. nothing to do with the thread - he wanted all to know what was on his mind. If it was a new thread and he wanted to complain then that would have been more appropriate.

Now you asked! My opinion is -- No political rants here- there or other forums dictated for that.

Thanks for the badge -- with pride I will wear it

Here's my take. Itchy responded to the snake post, and mike1950 responded to Itchy's signature line. He may have thougght it was part of the post.
