It wasn't worth mentioning

Besides he bought everything he wanted,
and wasn't even a woodworker per se. Another pop icon made diety. It's hard enough to raise kids these days without false idols. Where are the real men, General George Patton, John Wayne, The Lone Ranger, Steve McQueen, et al? And women, Margaret Thatcher, Mother Teresa...et al? bill

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)

I agree with Gary. Irrelevant person in my life. I would say that I was upset by the media coverage and dissapointed in our government's reactions. For Congress to observe a moment of silence is outrageous to me. How many true hero's have died since Jackson? How many WWII vets? How many cops murdered? Where is their moment of silence in Congress? Sorry if this post is political, not trying to make it that way, but I'm ashamed of our leadership.

Yep, it's basically on my 'Who cares" list of things not to think/worry about.

This is a woodworking forum and to the best of my knowledge, Michael Jackson is made of plastic.

There is a very fine line between a "hobby" and a "mental illness"

Now that's funny, right there!

Good one Kenbo! You can't knock his talent, but he took some twists down life's path that either precipitated his own demise or caused someone else to accelerate it. I think I read or heard that more people die of prescription medication overdoses that any other means of suicide. bill

Overdose suicides or attempts are by far the most common type of suicide call I deal with at work, do I second this. They are rarely successfully undertaken though. The problems with taking so many pain killers is they don't all release at once. The most common pain killer overdose is because the victim takes time release pain killers and it doesn't work immediately so they pop some more. Then they all release at once and by then its too late. Just curious how many pills he was popping and prescribed by how many doctors.

I heard 40 Xanax per day

I give you LE guts a lot of credit/respect. Few people know the extent of the work you do and the types of people, trauma, and danger you encounter. Don't believe anyone or trust anyone, my motto. I've watched cops do some things in traffic stops, that I would never do when approaching a vehicle stop. No common sense. I was pulled over late at night for 65 in a 50, coming home after an argument with my girlfriend, after working on her house for 5 days, truck full of tools. I "carry" so I pulled into a driveway, turned on my dome light and put my hands on my head fingers locked. The deputy asked if I knew how fast I was going..yes sir...65..I'm carrying ...where is the gun...left side ...leave it there....any tickets?...no...I'll be back.... You can go, just slow down...yes, sir, thanks.... I showed respect, he let me off. Also, the carry guys are the good guys...usually!

death, old friend and the rooster

i'd prefer to keep this clean. yeah, everyone deserves some credit and celebration post-mort--not just pop icons. but media spoon-fed any of us not living under a rock specific details of mj's life. i agree, we should remember people like teachers, truck drivers, health care workers, farmers, and fire fighters. but they don't "sell records" or snag the beatles' catalogue.

as for michael's plastic surgery, that was his decision much like the way i have my hair cut.

My 17-year-old son made an interesting observation regarding Michael, "He was good when he was black." And I must agree. It's a shame that he passed but most of the rest of us will too. I'm ready for some new news on TV, also.
