Cut it twice, measure once and it's still too short.

Why was it separated from the numbers 1-9?

Measure Twice Cut Once -- It's a lot easier to cut more off then it is to cut MORON.
Finishing is 3 parts chemistry and 1 part VooDoo http://lrgwood.com

In saying zero divided by zero is zero, Brahmagupta differs from the modern position. Mathematicians normally do not assign a value to this, whereas computers and calculators sometimes assign NaN, which means "not a number."

0 (zero; BrE: /ˈzɪərəʊ/ or AmE: /ˈziːroʊ/) is both a number[1] and the numerical digit used to represent that number in numerals. It fulfills a central role in mathematics as the additive identity of the integers, real numbers, and many other algebraic structures. As a digit, 0 is used as a placeholder in place value systems. Names for the number 0 in English include zero, nought or (US) naught (/ˈnɔːt/), nil, or in contexts where at least one adjacent digit distinguishes it from the letter "O" oh or o (/ˈoʊ/). Informal or slang terms for zero include zilch and zip.[2] Ought and aught (/ˈɔːt/), as well as cipher, have also been used historically.[3]

A good read if you must know 7979

since we are counting progressively upward....

5229 I don't always follow the rules.

http://www.straightdope.com/columns/...-zero-a-number

Zero is not a counting number in the purest sense. No one starts counting with zero, they always start with one....How many sheep are in the pen? Let's see there's one, two, etc. Then when you get to ten (10) it acts as a "place" or shorthand for that unit quantity.

Mathematics has it's own rules as do mathematicians apart from us regular folks who just know how to count. So, call it a number if you wish... or not. There is no "zero" on my tape measure... except when I get to 10, 20, 30, etc. The first number is "one" preceded by fractions thereof...

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)

1399. How much I just paid for my new drum sander.
1957. The year I was born.
1975. Graduated High School.
8880. The day one niece of mine was born.
8888. The day she turned 8.

If you can't tell, I recommend only posting a number if you follow it up with something meaningful to you about that number. 5234... the post I had this idea in.
