Andy Rooney dead at 92

Only one month after finishing the last show of his 30+ years on 60 minutes, he died in the hospital, I don't know of what.

He was a bit weird at times and boring at others but I always found him to be a ton of fun most of the time.

He was a very cool guy. He had a unique persona. From what I read, he had an undisclosed surgical procedure that he didn't survive.

DAMN ... I wish I had known that. I met him briefly a couple of times 6 or 7 years ago when we worked in the same building in Manhattan and parked in the same lot, but we just chatted about this and that and it never occurred to me to bring up woodworking.

There have been very few public figures that bring a tear to my eye when they die. Andy's death did bring a tear to my eye.

And I would always let him finish his dinner first.

BTW - Andy wrote a preface to Thomas Moser's book.

Use the right tool for the job.

I'll miss him. He was never afraid to call people out and tell it like it was.
