walnut duck call

I finally quit using commercially made plastic duck call "guts" after I figured out how to make the toneboards/inserts from wood. Took a while but getting them to sound the way I want them to is quite a milestone and accomplishment. Here's one I made from black walnut this evening. It is finished with BLO for an old school classic duck call look. I sanded between applications of BLO to fill the open grain. The sound is awesome!

Comments and critiques welcome.

You are kicking butt and taking names. It really shows when a guy likes what he does.
