HugeCow inc. 03-14-2012 11:02 PM

Yeah not a knock nicely done. Maybe incorporate a custom wood mechanism like a sliding dowel

Now that right there is down right beautifull HC

Is it made of scraps or did you intentionaly make all the smaller strips for this project ?
SUPER job on the hinges and latch.
You aint related to that feller from " Alone in The Wilderness " are ya ?

Mmmm...i got me big ole pile o' toobafours collected stink bugs. I could spend o couple o' days at the TS and rip 'em up. * rubbin chin *.

Maybe fer a saftey catch ya could make a rod o' sorts that 'falls' into place when the box is opened. ?
( Kind o' like a lawn chair catch gizmo )
That way you could stick to yer all wood concept.

Jist a way way way cool build ya got there

I like your idea for a safety catch, and yeah basically the whole box is made from scraps and just random boards laying around the garage

Great looking toybox. My grandson would love one

of the lock ?

Made an Andy's toybox from the Toy Story movies last Christmas. It also had a big lid like yours. I had to weigh my lid and ordered hinges from http://www.hardwaresource.com/ because I couldn't find any weight rated high enough locally. They worked great!

Looks great. Nice Job. Any chance of getting a close up on your locking mech?
