. Dang, you're good! Well, it will be. After a couple more coats of Matte clear, and the handles installed, it will be finished.

Way to take the mystery out of it Joe.
Well that guessing game was short lived.

There is a very fine line between a "hobby" and a "mental illness"

All in all, this was a "fun" little project. A few pallet wood scraps, no real stellar expectations, brain dead easy joinery using air nailer brads & butt joints, and spray clear. It measures 17 3/8" by 15 1/4" by 2 1/4" to the top of the kitchen drawer pull handles. I really needed this build-- it just made me feel good.

I just gave it to one of my neighbors, and his wife. They do a fair bit of entertaining, and were impressed and thankful.

Thank God for people that make the mistake of admiring our work. Who else would we give it too?

That would very much at home on our "entertainment center"....AKA,back porch.

Did you skip sand it?IOW's,partial knock down on the roughness?Don't know how rough your wood was.

Those who say it cannot be done shouldn't interrupt the people doing it.

Skip sand? I just hit it with 80 grit to knock off the rough "splinter makers". Doing that left it with just enough "character" for the look I was after. The wood wasn't too rough to start with, though.
