Spalted Greenspire Linden Candle holders

These candle holders are from 6 1/2 in. dia. logs. They were in my firewood pile for almost 2 years before I went looking for some new wood to work with. The logs were part of a 16 inch dia. 32 ft. tall Greenspire Linden that we planted 20 years ago. It blew down one night in 2012 in a really bad storm. I think it had "root wrap" which caused the trunk to be weaker. I have the main trunk stored in my shed. Now I am anxious to cut into that to see if it is spalted as well.
They are setting on the quarter sawed oak table I posted a while back.
Added a picture of the down Linden tree. Boy did that make me sick!!

And the tree lives on.

Fill your heart with compassion, seek the jewel in every soul, share a word of kindness, and remember; the people's what it's about.

Be happy that the tree wasn't any taller or you'd be having your roof repaired.

Nice holders though.

If Woodworking is so much fun why isn't it called WoodFUNNING?

I've made a few videos

I measured from the stump to the house and it was 28 ft. There was about 4 ft. of the top branches turned up against the house. There was no damage to the house. The top was just long slender branches, thus "Greenspire Linden". It was my grandkids favorite climbing tree.
