The Ship And The Octopus Folk Art

Argh! My first build other then guitars and music stuff! It is a wooden galleon ship called The Brownie that has been at sea for three weeks and now being attacked by a giant octopus from the deep and dark ocean. On board is a very attractive young lady and her loving gent. They are on their honeymoon of course. The giant octopus is jealous of him that he has such a beauteous wife. The ship might go down, the winds are quick and the waves are high. Will the ship sink? Or will the crew survive?

With your imagination you might stop the woodwork a write a novel.
Catpower likes this.

If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when will you have time to do it over?

I did actually try to write a book before! But there is no way I'm going to attempt that I think I will stick to writing my mushy gushy love poetry! LOL!

So how do the pencils, or should I say cannons, fit into the story

Enjoy yourself, life is short

I'm already scared because when you get really good with woodworking you'll be downright scary..
Enjoy life and let your skills take hold. Someday down the road you might just become one of those guys museum collectors go crazy over.

I figured it's time to change my signature so hold your breath. This is it.
Impressive, huh?
Marty or Marty Farty if you feel mean.

AH! it is up for your imagination! Does the crew fire the cannons leaving the octopus beaten and wounded or dead? Or does the octopus sink the ship and take the lovely lady out! HA!

Yes. This piece would look very cool if one of those real talented woodworkers got ahold of this! I don't think I will get that far I kinda just do this woodworking thing on and off.

Ahoy! Is that Capt. Nemo cruising in his Nautilus just below the water line to save the day? Thanks for sharing a bit of wood and some imagination. Be safe.

I donít think Captain Nemo can save the day. The octopus got a bit more jealous. I added lightning and a shark and the ship is on fire, but with more cannons and a ships wheel maybe they make it home?

Shouldn't there be some theme music about now?
Maybe Will Hay's Windbag the Sailor . If you've never watched Will Hay movies you should. Heck, everyone should watch Will Hay movies.

Hope you are not sailing in the "Bermuda Triangle" area, as you may just disappear. Can we expect another of your "wood adventures"? Be safe.

The storm is so powerful that the music cannot be heard only the thunder, wind and splashing wave and the tearing at the ship by the giant octopus!

Well yes there is more to the story! Now there is wind! It is a strong wind and the lady is taken by the octopus as she sees the octopus is more manly and brave then he and despite the barrage of cannon fire the man lost his wife to an octopus. He returns with a damaged ship and the most embarrassment to ever feel, argh!
