New Entertainment Center

Just finished my latest project. It is an entertainment center that replaces one we have had for many years. It's purpose is to house the cable box, blu-ray player and the stereo. Well, one of my shelves was too narrow to fit over all four shelf pins so I will make one more.

The material used was the project panels made from Lodgepole Pine purchased at the big box store. The front and back are face frames with the panel inset from the rear on the back panel. It turned out looking like a piece of furniture from the rear instead of just a back that had been nailed on.

At the bottom is a drawer that my sweetie has already filled with dvd's and some old VHS tapes.

About that drawer...I cut the parts out of 1/2 inch Baltic birch on my new CNC machine. It was a perfect fit. This was my first time to use the CNC.

And since I built all of the furniture pieces in our living room, everything matches. All pine construction and Kona stain.

More pictures are here in my albums. http://www.woodworkingtalk.com/membe...inment-center/
