My first lawn chair.

I was e-mailed a picture of a lawn chair from my wifes friend saying
"can you make a one of these?" The picture made the chair look cheap,
so i figured i would try to spice it up a little.
I made two chairs for her. NO metal fasteners were used.
The wood is an Indonesian oak called Mempning
The hinges for the adjustable back are made of blood wood and completely concealed.
Everything is mortise and tenon with purple heart dowels.

Darn nice!, Woody! Love the dowels - nice touch!

Good thing my wife doesn't browse this forum. She would be wanting someone to build that for sure.

Bet you scored some points with that one!

Poor quality versions of this design retail for about 600usd in UK. Known as 'steamer chairs' as used on cruises.
