Love the Quartersawn #2

Here is the other Quartersawn white oak project I just finished.
This one hasn't been delivered yet. It is a stand and canopy for a 210g aquarium.
Those that have followed our blog have seen that this little hobbie has taken on a life of its own :)
To see more of these awesome creations you can see the gallery on our web site.

Wow, you make really nice stuff!

One of my first woodworking projects was a 55 gal aquarium stand. Looked NOTHING like that, though...

That's beautiful! Good Job! Quarter-sawn white oak is one of my favorites, also.

Hope you don't mind if I steal a couple of your design ideas for the trim - it's very nice.

Looks beautiful. I'd like to see it once the aquarium is set up on it. I bet that looks nice.

I'm a little late to the party, but I'd love to see those pictures of this thing set up with the tank. The stand that you have made is absolutely gorgeous. Great work.

There is a very fine line between a "hobby" and a "mental illness"

What did you use for the finish? did you do the ammonia trick?

It's all fun and games until someone loses the Walnut.

Ammonia trick? It is a sherwood stain with 4 coats of pre-cat lacquer.
