DIY? Yea, everyone has a CNC, a horizontal boring machine and a horizontal sander.

Kind of wonder how crafters of 100 years ago did the same thing. Probably a lot slower than the video, though. Nice clock but it would be nice to have $50K of equipment. Wife is retiring and we were talking about making Christmas gifts for next year. We will have lots of time to do them. Just thinking (scary, isn't it?) how the curved pieces can be made w/o the CNC. Or just eliminate them and make 45 degree miters or butt joints with picket screws. Or wrap the corners with duct tape. So many ways to do it.

A diamond is how coal reacts under pressure.

I don't get it.I suppose if you want to mass produce these things and sell for a profit that's the way to do it.Personally, otherwise I don't see much fun in it.Where's the challenge? For me I'll just stick to my Jewish carpentry teacher's suggestions that simplicity and old school hand tools is the only way to go for the hobbiest.Long live the spokeshave. These are old photos of my shop there have been many tool additions and a cabinet below the bench.I love my lord.
