My wife wants a new desk. she has always wanted the old type of those roll top desks or flip down types. does anyone know where a good outline is to look at beginning this project?

I don't really care for Tommy Mac but he does have an episode where he builds a roll top bread box. That would illustrate some good points on how the roll top works. There are also a few companies that sell tambour bit sets if you prefer not to have a canvas backed tambour.

As for overall plans... Can't help ya there.

EDIT
ps. Welcome to the forum.

Tom, I don't know why you have a problem with Tommy, Tom. It's not like, Tom, he doesn't, Tom, have good skills, Tom or field trips, Tom. It must be you, Tom, ok, Tom? TOM! TOM!!!!!

He's going to be here in Tampa next weekend and I plan on telling him he's got to quit referring to his helper by name in every sentence, sometimes multiple times in that sentence..

My biggest problem with him (personality and speed speech aside) is he has some of the best hand tools money can buy (got them from sponsors) yet they only serve as decoration. Even when task is quicker and easier by hand, with tools he has, he walks off to a power tool.

Makes me doubt he knows how to use them them in the first place... and to me that makes him a dang ole collector.
