Vega 40" fence

Does anyone own the Vega 40" fence.I need to know what the measurement is of the front guide bar from the right side of the blade to the end.I am trying to figure out if I will have enough room to install this fence my shop is a little narrow and I have other bench tools around so I dont want to have a situation where I have to move the table saw to get around it.Thanks for any help.

Hi Johne230,

I have the Vega-Pro 40" fence. I've installed it on a large 4'x8' worktable that I built and put my Jet contractor saw in the middle of. You can see it here ( http://riodesignltd.com/wordpress/my-shop/ )

In the first picture, you can see the end of the fence tube, sticking out from the table. I think that this is what you are referring to in your question?? The length that the tube sticks out, is really dictated by the size of your bench you are attaching it too...and where your saw blade is in reference to it. The tube mounting bracket (right side) is right at the end of my bench, so the tube sticks out 4 more inches past the end of my table.

The second picture of my shop, shows the backside of my table, where you can get a better idea of the layout and mounting, and my saw. I did NOT use the front guide bar (that the fence rests on) since in my case the end of the fence is riding along the top of my table-top, which is melamine and quite slick. That front bar is 56" in length and can be positioned anywhere on your bench that you are mounting it too.

Hope that helps

What I need to know is the dim. from the right side of the blade to the end of the guide bar.that dim. should be the same on all saws if you maintain the 40" rip capacity. Thanks again
