Simple(?) but frustrating fix for Delta L51X table saw

It looks like it should be simple but the set screw came out out my blade angle wheel without me knowing. The wheel, itself, migrated up the shaft until it was tight against the cabinet assembly. The key followed the wheel halfway up shaft. Looking for a good idea on getting the key out without destroying it further than I may already have.

Don't quite understand your situation, in most cases I would use a small chisel to raise the back end by driving it into the slot below the key. Then grab the key with vise grips and pull it out, tapping them gently with a brass hammer if I have to. Key stock is easily obtained so it can be replaced if necessary, probably advisable.
