Just some food for thought: A miter saw is a limited use tool. You could spend the same money on a table saw and have 10 times the functionality. My advice would be to ask yourself if you really need a 12" miter saw. Do you plan on needing that much capacity to make repeatable crosscuts and/or compound cuts?

Remember if just starting out a good tablesaw does a lot of things if you use it to its fullest. If I didn't have all the tools my tablesaw would be the "everything" that's where I would be focused if it were me...Bob
Thanks again. I wish I was just starting out. That would mean I was young again. I agree on the importance of a table saw so after I buy the miter, which will now be a 10" model, i will be upgrading my Delta Contractors Saw to a Sawstop.

I'd like to think I'm not hard headed and it only takes multiple folks telling me the same thing for me to listen. So it will not be a 12" miter but a 10" one.
