They do not repair stuff at the store
He didn't ask for free part or replacement. If you read correctly, he stated "I told him I did not have the paper work and would pay to get it fixed.". Do you guys really think he made a mistake by going to Sears to seek help for product they sell?
They would only replace it under warranty IF proof of purchase was provided. Last I checked they don't fix stuff at their stores. He wouldn't take it to Menards if that's what you mean. It's all water under the bridge, he's long gone.
