Sanding

Any ideas where I can get an attachment for my Elu lathe to allow me to do this with it? I'm based in the UK so would prefer a company there to save on shipping.

Many thanks.

Decide on what type would work best for you.Theres three basic types

>Pump sander....air is used to adj a bladder which changes the softness/hardness of sanding sleeve.Stop machine, deflate to change grits. There are some other types of sleeve sanders as well(solid rubber).

>The one in your pic looks like the end of a belt system.....some use the rubber coated "drive" wheel end for sanding, and others use the non-drive or idler wheel.Theres a slight advantage to the latter in that some designs allow for changing out idler for different diameters.

>Then theres some that are rubber coated "drums" that accept a belt. But theres only one wheel.IOWs,these differ from above belt system in that the single drum utilzes specific belts that once wheel is turning, the expansion of the webs molded into drum, expands to grip belt.Turning machine off, relaxes the drum and belts just slide off.

They all have advantages and disadvantages.....it ultimately is going to be up to the specific task and likes/dislikes as to which will serve you the "best".Have you checked E-Bay?Good luck,BW

Those who say it cannot be done shouldn't interrupt the people doing it.
