I need a new drive belt for my Rikon 10-325 bandsaw. I think the part No. listed in the title is correct (if not correct me). I found this place below, but i know nothing about the quality of belts. Good price, though.
Anyone hear off them or know of a better place to buy the belt?
I'm in the process of installing a new drive belt and I found two videos that install the belt differently. The first places the belt on the inside (to the right) of the tensioning pulley (idler pulley). This way, the smooth back-side of the belt rides against the smooth idler pulley as its moved to the right by the hand crank. To me that seems correct.
Then I noticed a diagram of the belt arrangement on the door. It places the belt on the outside (to the left) of the idler pulley. This causes the ribbed side of the belt to ride against the smooth idler pulley, contrary to the way I've know idler pulleys to work. Tensioning is achieved by moving the idler pulley to the left with the hand wheel. And I found a video to support this. installation.
Anybody know which is correct?
Thanks
P.S. Can't get the first video to load correctly. But when you click on the search link, it's the first video (bradford pear) that pops up.

Rikon Parts is out of stock (and double the price). I placed an order with beltpalace, their pricing is about $11 with shipping. I also ordered a belt for a CNC rotary axis I am planning to build. I will update after I have received and installed the belt.
When the belt on my band saw broke (not a 10-325) the belts were not available from the manufacture. I took the broken belt to a local belting and gear drive supply shop. They matched the broken belt to a Gates belt in stock. I bought three, one as a replacement and two for spares. Twenty years later, I still have the two spares. Suspect there is a karma rule that says if you have spares, you will never need them.
RE: Rikon part# "C10-995". Also found under the description "240J4 belt, J section, 240J size (24" length), 3/8" wide, 4 rib (3 groove)".
My original belt also disintegrated. Took a minute to figure out why the blade was stalling mid-cut, even though the motor was running. I have found replacement belts running from $7 to $45 and everything in between. Quality appears to be all over the place, from reviews. I've found prices for what appear/claim to be actual OEM belts run around $16-22. The Gates belt someone else mentioned is just over $21 at Amazon right now: Amazon.com .
Strangely, none of my local woodworking stores in the greater L.A. area carry it in stock any longer. I too simply used the original diagram, as the arrangement of spindles and the wheel didn't leave an alternative.
