The bottom of the tracks have really sticky rubber attached so they don't move when you are using the tracks. You won't be easily able to slide the track along another straight edge. You could possibly re-position the track as you reach the end.

I did read in the reviews the joining two sections of the makita track is a problem. The reviews were older and I was hoping that makita would have corrected the problem by now.

I was hoping just to purchase another 55" track to rip down sheet goods to finished size.

Another thing I don't understand is how they can sell a 55" track for $70 but the 118" track cost $210. You would not think it would be over twice as much.
I was hoping to use the two 55" Makita tracks, too. That was a disaster when I got mine. Makita may have corrected the issue by now. Maybe.

After my disaster with the two 55" Makita tracks, I looked at the longer Makita and Festool tracks. I chose the Festool based on my previous poor experience with joining the two 55" Makita tracks and the reviews I was able to read regarding both Makita and Festool tracks. I also wanted to get the Festool Parallel Guide Extension accessory and I was not sure the Festool accessory would fit the Makita track.
