As I mentioned when I first joined a couple of weeks ago, I picked up an old Unisaw. I have the saw back together and I have reconditioned the table and made my first couple of test cuts with the the miter only. It works beautifully!
Yesterday, I picked up a nice, used 52" Biesemeyer fence assy. It came off of a newer (80's vintage?) Unisaw. The newer Unisaw must have had a completely different set of mounting holes than mine does. My saw uses only two 3/8"-24 mounting holes on the front and two 3/8" clearanced holes on the back to mount the rails. This Biesemeyer rail set has MANY coountersunk 1/4" clearance holes to mount, but none of them come close to aligning with my mounts.
I'm not at all uncomfortable drilling and countersinking holes to mount this thing, but i want to make sure I mount the rails at the right height. Centering the rails is not an issue, but the height is not soemthing that's terribly obvious.
Any tips, or pics, or measurements would be most appreciated.
Thanks!
Chuck
