New Jig/Saber Saw

I am looking at getting a new jig/saber saw. I like bosch tool but have had a old craftsman for ever but I think its time to replace it.

Any suggestions on a new jig/saber saw ?

Thanks

I'm going to be purchasing a Bosch JS470EB pretty soon.

I hate signatures.

In my opinion, the Bosch is the best value for a hand held jig saw. I've used many brands over the years, the Bosch is my favorite.

If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when will you have time to do it over?

Yes, Bosch is definitely great. I have one. If money is no object, you can also have a look at Festool and Mafell.

Keep thy axe sharp.

Mort, if you can find a 572,get that instead.
I've got the 470EBL and I like the power on it... But it suffers from the same problem EVERY jigsaw has.
The blade still deflects. I haven't tried any of the thicker kerf Bosch blades (because those are supposed to help), but I'd save a bit more money for the model with the blade stabilizers.

I looked at the 572, but if I remember right it was $100 more. I had a Festool Carvex that I sold because it was too expensive for what I got in return.

If I hate the 470 I'm not above selling it and getting something different.

I ave the Bosch for 8 years, no problem at all. It is the barrel grip model which I feel more control with.
