Laguna LT 16 SEC made by Meber Italian Need motor advices

Hi,

I own a Laguna LT 16 SEC made by meber Italian machine. the motor broke down and to have it rewind it will cost me $900.

What are my options? Laguna sells one that is not guaranteed that will be good fit for about $750 with shipping. now my question is...

Is there other options?
My Laguna bandsaw has the foot brake, do I need to be concerned if I want to go out and buy another brand of motor?

Has anyone had the same dilemmas?

The problem with my bandsaw is that the motor sits just below the table, which is an italian thing I think... most of the Rikon, Laguna, Grizzly, etc. their motor sits below the cross frame close to the bottom of the bandsaw.

I know what power I need about 2 HP - 3HP single Phase, 220V motor. front face moiunt.

Any help will be really appreciated it!
