foley sharpening equip

I have the opportunity to buy some brand new foley equip. There is a 359 trip hammer setter, a 387 filer, a 352 auto pwr setter, a 360 circular saw grinder, and a scissor sharpener. Can anyone give me an estimate of what it is all worth? More importantly, can anyone tell me if there is a need for these machines in this day and age?

You said "brand new"...firstly unless it is 40% of new price I would never buy it. You can buy those used for that or less and they will still last you a lifetime. My sharpening shop is equipt with 30-40 year old Foley-Belsaw stuff, still works like new and expect them to until I retire (20 years ?).

As far as use for them today...depends. Around here not much. I have a 387 filer...I handfile. I have a power setter...I handset. I just sold a trip hammer setter (to Puerto Rico) for $100. I am not familiar with the 360, but the carbide grinders today are the most used tools. And the scissor sharpener is a good tool to have, I make plenty of money with mine (they can be bought used/perfect working order on eBay for $50-$75)

Daren, Thank you very much for the info. The seller is asking $1875 for all the items I listed. I'm inclined to think that's a little high based on what you said. Would you agree? I don't know the current price of this stuff. Thanks, Alan.
