Dial indicator vs sliding caliper for blade alignment

I've read about using both, a dial indicator and a sliding caliper for alignment of a TS blade. Does it really matter with, as long as it is acurate to .001?

I'm leaning toward caliper for reason of more uses than a indicator, at least in my life.

Is there a worthwhile reason to go with a digital caliper instead of a dial?

I just use my combination square running in the miter slot for tuning up my tablesaw. There is no reason you can't use a plain old dial indicator, and besides you'll never have to worry about the batteries dying.
