Does anyone have the delta mortising attatchment? I'm thinking of buying it but would like to have some opinions on it. Also will it fit on any drill press like a 10" for example? Im also in the market for a drill press in the $100 range. Any sugestions? Thanks, Jeremy
I can't tell you about the Deltas mortising attachment, but I can tell you Black & Decker sells A Delta 9" or 10" 5 speed drill press with a 1/2" chuck. (Black & Decker and Delta is the same company) The best place to find the drill is in there outlet stores. It sells for about $89.00 or $99.00.
And Delta and Porter Cable were the same company. Just saying, I know from buying thier tools that was the pairings when it came to service centers for repairs and what nots. Also I know that some of Craftsmen are suppoesd to be made by Dewalt.
Considering how cheap you can get a dedicated mortising machine from say, Grizzly, or Steel City, why bother with the attachment? $200 will get you a nice tool that will work well for what you are doing, rather then fuss with a setup that will never be "perfect".
