Cutech Jointer

Alright, finally have enough saved up to purchase a benchtop jointer. I am aiming to get the cutech 6" or 8" jointer. Now a few times a year I wish I had the 8" to do board facing but not often. So I am leaning way over for the 8" one since it is only a couple of inchs longer.

I also have enough to start on a flip top bench for it and my wen 13 inch planer. Now I am only going to get the one with HSS cutters then later on get the carbon cutters.

Now I did contact Cutech about free shipping and I got a reply to check them out Fathers Day :). So if the do have free shipping then the 8" but if not then the 6".

Thanks for the post. I would be very interested to hear from people that have this jointer. Looks like it has mostly good reviews.

Why did you decide on this jointer?

How many jointers does one buy in a lifetime? One, possibly two because their first one was too small/too short. The 8" should have at least 2 HP, if not there may be issues. Read the reviews carefully to help you decide. A 2 HP will draw 16 to 18 AMPs on 120 volts. Mine is a 6" Craftsman and works for almost all my needs. I also have a 13" combo planer/jointer IF I ever need a super wide jointer, but so far not needed.

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)

Now I did see this being advertize and wonder if it would be worth it.

Craftsman 6” Jointer. Great, heavy jointer. 54” bed for 400 dollars?

I am still getting the 8inch so if anybody is intersted in this one that lives in the Dallas Tx area it is listed on facebook in Sunnyvale Tx.

Well no fathers day special or free shipping from Cutech so could not purchase the 8 inch but did get the 6" model with the high speed cutters MODEL 40160H-CT. Which I been going back and forth on since I have a small shop and all of my projects so far been small, Plus I order the Incra V27 miter gauge for my tablesaw since I broke the factory one from rigid plus a few other things I wanted.
