That is pretty tempting. This whole winter in New England thing is getting old. Last week it was 55 degrees on monday. Didn't get above 15 degrees the following Saturday. Oh well, what can you do?

well I looked up a motor for it and CPO want alittle over a grand for it but Grizzly wants $339. for it. I am thinking about taking the ride but dont know if I want to risk the Wife killing me for bringing it home. I know CPO list it for over 4 grand. So even if a total of 800. was to be invested between the gas from here and the motor I would still say it is a bargain

I don't plan my day in advance cause the word "Premeditated" ends up flying around the court room.......

I saw the prices for the motors as well. Looks around $500 for the 3 ph and over $1,000 for the 1 ph. Could be a great score for someone if that Grizzly motor will work on that machine. That thing could be a basket case, who knows. I would imagine that it was a cab shop and maybe it wasn't set up for 3 ph and they just decided to get a new planer? Keep in mind I do not know anything about the seller, just saw the ad this morning.

Well it would also depend on condition the rest of the machine is in also. Would hate like hell to spend 4 hours on the road for something that is in need of a complete over haul and still not knowing if it can still do the job. I figured between getting a trailer from out there to here and the gas I am looking at about 200 duckets. But then for a machine that cost 4+k and then a motor from grizzly for 400 tops it could be a rewarding investment. IMHO

Yeah, I see what you mean. I am allready beating myself up about not calling to get it. It is only about an hour away. I have a small basement shop and space is tight in there now. The only way to get it in there is though double doors in the back and I can not drive my truck down in the winter with snow on the ground. I suppose I could set up a cable and pulley system to get it down the hill....I could squeeze it in there somewhere,but...Oh well, I do hope someone picks it up before they scrap it.

Well I made the call and I was only the second person to call about it. Seems to have a motor mount problem that might have caused the motor to go. He said that a piece of steel could solve the problem. But he said it ran fine no other problems with it. It served him well. Someone was going to look at it tomorrow so it will give me time to bounce it around in my head if I want to act on it if it is still there. Are you the one going to look at it Jack LOL

Not me. I would have given a heads up if I was. I don't care for sneaky and dishonesty.

It was a DELTA PLANER dc 580. 20" planer. It was free "I have a fork lift and will load for you. Come and get it". Guy with the ad said it just needed a motor.
