You have several alternatives ....

!. buy your own damn saw
2. increase your medical coverage and life insurance
3. drop the fence or break it into many pieces
4. go havsies with the neighbor and buy a decent fence
5. have him make all the cuts for you

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)

I have a powermatic 64A and $400k of life insurance...the neighbor just asks me to catch the occasional sheet of plywood when he's doing a project. I cringe at the sound of that blade binding against the wood every time but I try to be the good neighbor and help out when he needs.

After a ton of research, I instead bought a Jet unit for only sixty bucks more! $160 for the saw with Xacta fence (I like the Delta Unifence far more, but this thing is dead straight also!), open frame stand, 1.5 horsepower (external) motor, cast iron wings, rolling base, and a Rockler router table assembly on the far right (with leveling insert, fence and a pair of clamp accessories). I also bought a Delta tenon jig and a clamping miter gauge for $20. I don't have the specific model number of the saw on me at the moment, but it is white and sits on an open frame stand (rather than enclosed).

Good deal, or did I goof this one up?
I am waiting for the photos, but I would say it is a good deal, especially with the router table thrown in.

As long you are on the outfeed side, you are less likely to be injured by your neighbor's table saw with the bent fence. On the flip side, are you up-to-date on your first aid training, particularly blunt force trauma?

Hi all! Here are some photos. Regretfully, I do not have any 'before' photos...it is in pieces right now. Yes, I extensively checked out used the saw for a few basic operations before purchasing. Model number JWTS-10CW2-LFR.

You did good. Much better saw than the original. There is no comparison between the two. I think you will enjoy this one for many years.

If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when will you have time to do it over?
