16-32 sander

a friend just purchased a used jet 16-32, and is having trouble with the conveyor belt not tracking on it. he bought a new (paper) belt and same thing. tracks off the front to the left. just curious if other have same problem and found a cure. of course the manual was followed for tracking adjustments to no avail...

our Ryobi has the rubber type belt and doesn't have a tracking problem. thanks

If it won't adjust out it sounds like one side or the other of the belt is stretching making the belt longer. Therefore causing it to walk off. I've had defective sanding belts that would start walking off when you use them for a while and they start getting warm.

yeah, we thought maybe that was the case. I guess he has flipped the belt, and it still tracks the same way...

Adjust the right of left belt rollers. The morning session will move belt right or left easy fix, just needs some teaking
