Stanley Cabinet scraper

I purchased this Stanley No. 80 at the Lie-Nielsen Tool Event in Dallas on Friday.

I'd like some advise on whether I should do any more than clean it up and give it a light coat of oil. It will be a user. I'll flatten the sole if needed.

And the scraper. It says: HENRY DISSTON & SONS. ACME No. 120 SCRAPER. EXTRA HIGH TEMPER. HAND SAW STEEL. PHILADELPHIA, U. S. (A.?). The "A" doesn't show. If I try to clean this up, I think the lettering may be damaged.

So, whatcha think? How far do I go to clean this up for use.

I used electrolysis on my scrub plane since it was really gone; but for the most part some steel wool and paste wax should be good enough.

Whatever you use to clean your saw blades will probably clean your scraper.

If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when will you have time to do it over?

Thanks to you both for the replies. I'll try the blade cleaner & a toothbrush first.
