Stanley 78 parts

Good afternoon. I ran across a pretty decent 78 recently, but the fence and the depth stop are both missing. I know there are other methods to work around this, but my question is about the newer 78s being sold for cheap. Do the auxiliary parts still fit the older planes? I noticed that these parts are ungodly expensive by themselves and a new 78 would be cheaper complete than just the fence and the stop separately from sellers of old parts. Anyone ever tried? I don't care if the finish matches or the paint, just the parts fit properly.

Heck, if I can make the plane complete with the fence and stop I might just resell it and buy one complete..

I figured it's time to change my signature so hold your breath. This is it.
Impressive, huh?
