Jack plane cutting issues

I use a bunch of wooden planes and a german kunz version of the 62 low angle plane.

The 62 performs often very well and is sharp enough to shave some hair but now and then it does not take any wood of. And I am really wondering why.

Today I had some oak quite flat but whit a wind and the 62 was sliding over it not taking anything. I tested on some narrow softwood and it works. The wooden planes performed better, I used a wooden smoother and a two foot long one.

Why does my 62 dwny work sometimes?
Any Idea.
