Combination plane cutter storage

Hey folks, I've got an odd sort of question.

I acquired a combination plane (probably made by Sargent), with the cutters in a canvas roll. While I like how easy to store they are, I'm not loving the process of getting the cutters in and out of the pockets, and I'd like to do something like the boxes Stanley used for the 45 and 55.

Can someone who has those boxes please post a few pictures? They're never really the focus of the pictures they're in, and I'm trying to figure out if, for instance, they had lids, how they were put together, and things like that. I've got a test setup gluing up right now, but I'd like to see how the professionals did it.

Thanks!

Thank you, Belg!

It looks to me almost like each box was a single board, with a really deep groove down the middle and the ends stopped with small pieces. No dividers, obviously, and it looks like the tops just sit over the cutters, which is certainly good enough if they're being stored in a larger box.

I did dividers on my trial box, but it would certainly be a lot easier without. I meant to get it out of the clamps and get a photo this morning, but I overslept and didn't have time. I should be able to get a photo up tonight.

Thanks again!
