Thank You so much for your comments Wonderwoman.

I take alot of pictures and only end up with a small percentage of keepers. The little hummingbirds do seem to pose. I have a feeder outside the window and they will sit on a branch of a nearby tree and guard the feeder. I just take pictures out the window. The secret to bird pictures is just getting close.

As for the lamps, I have been making them full time for about eight years. Beginning to get a little tired of it sometimes.

    Thanks again,

    Ron

nah, I like Granny better! LOL primed the 'guinea pig' bath cab.- painted today, needs another coat...looks good. I took out the sink/counter (1 piece), decided it's now a candidate for resin trial, it's **** already so I can't hurt it! Progress being made, slow and steady. Heather

Heather, I am sorry, I have had that magazine lying out here for several days. I see it after I get off the computer. I have re-read the article and it is primarily about how to apply. Does not have any information of potential used such as around food. I have never personally used these and therefore have no knowledge. I do know that tables made with that type of top are frequently found in restaurants. In the bar at the Eglin AFB Officers Club we have a number of them with various insignia embedded in them. They seem to hold up well to all the use they get.

Sorry I could not be any more help.

You just need to do a lot of sanding to get down to the bare wood. Then sand to a nice fine finish ,like 180-220 grit, and apply some primer two coats if needed, then two or three coats of finish paint. this will last years and years. Remember dont be cheap on the paint you choose. its your kitchen. I'm sure you use it a lot, buy some very durable paint and it will last forever!!!!

heather: yes, i've got alot of projects either going or waitin time: finish kitchen(marine poly/knobs/tiny bit of trim/decoratet), ironing board built in ,office wall cupboards need stronger shelf unit above them, finish re-uphols sofa, fix woodwork where carpet layers scuffed it up, mom:new roof (hire out),book shelves, repair her kitchen ceiling drywall ice back-up water damage, beadboard lower walls her kitchen, hall, dining room + chair rail, moulding, and (with brother's help, new drywall her bedroom). SON...new baby any day now, new job hopefully soon, move them from the west, settle them here..work on remodel their home here (extensive) IF he gets job in PA and then IF they can live here., make more farm tables, sell them to pay for all my other projects.......I Think i can quit adding things to my list, this ought to take about 5 years. lso somewhere in there i want to start my "night" job so eventually i can quit my "day" job. i think i'll go to bed now. julie

    Hey Wonderwoman,

I read your apolejetic post about not introducing yourself first.

Just wanted to let you know that I blundered in here and began posting. I have always regretted not doing an introductory post, but I think it's to late now. They haven't r-u-n-n-o-f-t'd me yet.

This is a really great forum, Welcome,

    Ron
