Hi, I posted a new thread in Project Showcase titled Red Oak End Tables. I'm not sure why but my pics always post upside down. I noticed that you were able to fix that the last time I posted pics. I'd appreciate it if you could do the same for this thread. Sorry for any inconvenience.

    Thanks,
    DA

Silicone adhesive will hold very well to plastic but you are correct, it doesn't get hard.
I was under the impression the lexan was sitting in a dado. I don't know of any adhesive you could edge glue a thin piece of lexan. If it's being glued to another piece of lexan they make a special adhesive just for the plastic but I don't remember what we used. I haven't done any plastic work since 1994.

Thanks Steve! I will try that but I think I'm doomed with this one. The reason I did not use the clear silicone caulk before is I was told it would not dry solid. Can you advise on that? I have the .093 poly standing on it's edge on the edge of the tread. Will the Silicone hold it tight enough do you think?

Hi, Steve. I see that you are a moderator on this forum. I would love to find some like minded wood workers in my neighborhood. Do you know if there is a way to find anybody who lives here in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Would it be O.K. to post the question?
"Looking for fellow wood workers in or around Regina, Saskatchewan?"

    Thanks, Steve,

    Thomas

Maybe i used the wrong terminology. I have an older house, built in the 1960s. The kitchen has vinyl tile that i am going to replace. Problem - underneath the tile is pine 3/4 inch (Real 3/4 inch.) plywood. and underneath that is 1x6 subflooring which is in good condition All i can find today is 23/32 which is noticeably different. I only need to replace 1/2 of the kitchen due to waterleakage and deterioration. Suggestions?

    Hey Steve,

I'm always curious when something happens to a member but usually don't ask. However, I had a notification of a post quote and when I clicked on it I saw it was Stefano Lombardo and all his posts have been deleted. What did he do? I did notice he came in 'hot' unlike most who sort of move slowly into posting and commenting.

    Just curious, is all...

    Thanks!

I hope they re-formulate the Valspar tractor paint. The stuff is terrible.

Sherwin williams is going to acquire Valspar for 11.3 billion. Just thought I would pass this on.

It would be tough Steve. The pressboard goes edge to edge on the slate. It is used to attach the three pieces to the wood frame of the table and to staple the felt tightly. You know what happens to pressboard when it gets hammered into or stapled etc. Pieces break off and converts back to sawdust pieces. I would have to shave/saw off from the slate and glue new pieces on to the edge. These slates are close to 300 pounds each and are difficult to work on without damaging them. I came to the conclusion some sort of filler might be the best option. But I have never tried this on pressboard. It is an interesting situation isn't it? Like you, I have dealt with countless weird possibilities with wood, but this one is new to me since I try to never use pressboard under any circumstances. I appreciate your input. It was a good idea.
