Hey man, I'm 18 as you probably saw. As a kid I always head older bands in the car driving with my parent's. Van Halen, The doors, pink floyd, yardbirds, led zep, and so on. Well in high school I was looking up some of the old music to put on my iPod and remembered Led Zeppelin. I've got nearly all of the music they made, and a lot of singles that Robert plant produced like sixty six to Timbuktu. But man, Led Zeppelin is just the best band out there in my ears, Nothing beats them. I know a lot of kids out there listen to that newer music like Lady Gaga, or lil wayne or what ever else it out there. Strictly classic rock on this kid's iPod.
Nice talking to you man, Enjoy the sounds of Led Zeppelin!
Hey Dale, How are you doing down there? Lots of rain, flooding and some tornados. Give us an update...maybe in off topic. Hope all is well.
Your phone no. starting with 636 didn't work?
My name is David and I'm from down south of you in Cape Girardeau. Just wanted to say hey since I saw you were fairly local. Always nice to know more folks in the area who like the same kind of stuff. I've only been more serious about woodworking a few months but have got bitten by the bug pretty hard.
Nice choice in bands too btw! If you ever head south look me up. We can get some coffee or something.
Yeah, there are a lot of items up for sale on CL but I have been waiting for the prices to drop. Lately (before Christmas) it was interesting to watch prices sky rocket and now they're starting to drop back to what I consider normal. Thanks for the heads up though!
Hey Dale, Good to meet a woodworking neighbor! Yes, we do have a lathe in our shop and it has been used a few times (fixed a chair with a broken spindle and turned a few pens). My youngest, Jake, absolutely loves that tool most! I haven't heard of any turning clubs and to be honest I wouldn't even be interested with all the other things I have to do during the week not to mention I work the mid shift and work weekends more often than not. I appreciate the heads up though.
As I stated in one of my recent posts in the wood turning forum I am starting a homeschool woodworking class where the kids will make a mantle clock and as a bonus I am throwing in a pen for each of them to turn as a way to introduce them to wood turning. We'll see how that goes!
