I saw your pictures of the second humidor that you made with the tray. That is an awesome piece. I am looking for some good plans as I would like to build a humidor as the first project on my new table saw. Any chance you can point me in the right direction for plans or supplies.
If you do have the same lathe then the headstock has a 3/4"-13tpi thread on it. Most lathes today have a 1"-13 thread. The Barracuda chuck from Penn State Industries comes with an adapter so you can mount it on your lathe. It is a very nice 4-jaw chuck for not a lot of money. I think you'kk be pleased with it.
Ken: While googling I saw this post from 2008:
carldu,
"This sounds like an old Craftsman lathe that I have. I'm not sure about the #273 on it but the rest sounds very similar. Does it have a three speed v-belt pulley at the headstock covered with a rectangular sheetmetal box? If you can post a picture that would be a big help. "
I have that exact lathe. Are there any 4-6 jaw headstocks that fit that machine?
