So, not much time now for wwtalk! hope u r having a great summer....my woodworking plans and projects came to a screaching halt......maybe in 3-4 years i can get back at it!! julie

Hey..need advise....son is now maybe going to move home in November.....he's trying to buy a property to perhaps make a hunting lodge.....he has always said he wants to build log style furniture....there is a property near here just timbered....and there is a log left that is curved perfect for an arched headboard....already cut down.....i have permission to get it...it will probably sit for a few years.....should i get it and then what? i read that the guys say to seal the ends....seal with what? store in the barn? should i wrap it? strap it? let me know your thoughts! also is there a tool/jig you use to taper the ends of the log pieces that remains consistent? thanks...might talk the spouse into getting that log this weekend......julie

Don't blush, u r good at what u do! Oh yea..sorry, i rambled about kellogg.....Congrats on your new grandchild....I opted to be called Me MA and my husband Pa Pa (meee maaahhh and Paaawww Paaaww) i told myself this title made me feel less old! ( i am just about 47 so i guess it is time to feel sorta old) So, you need to come up with grandparent name! (but, remember, the first grandchild may call u something else that will stick with u for all the other grand kids! I can't wait to go out to see them, meet the new baby and ..mostly to goof with the 21 mo old....she is talking up a storm ....last week she was repeating the saying that i added to my posts "i tried it......i like it"

i'm going to kellogg! it's beautiful there, changed alot since my son first moved there....they are trying to ski resort the town....they finally had some snowfalls the last two years. Once when we were out there we went camping/hiking at glacier nat'l park.....OH MY GOSH is that beautiful! i had a little anxiety going up "going to the sun road" i would get to looking ahead and see the stone walls broken up and seeing the construction reapiring them and the fact the walls were so low and road so narrow and the fact if they needed repaired they were in fact old and could breakoff.......LOL
But the beauty of the place is breathtaking! My son and his wife got married there....overlooking St mary's lake....she wore the white wedding gown, he a suit and they had two couples with them.....my nephew married them, his wife video'd. My husband goes out each fall and hunts with my son too. he loves it there too!

i do and i don't!(stay busy) ...i work in mental health and most winter nights i come in and get lazy after work...this winter has been mixed with both. had carpet laid end january so i spent most of early january painting and staining and waiting , dec and nov were mostly the farm table for the nephew. lately it has been the couch (re-uopholstering and laying!) put in alot of overtime the last few weeks too. more ot in next two weeks and then off to see the new grandbaby girl and her 21 month old big sister in idaho for a couple of weeks ...and then back to more overtime probably! BUT when i get back it should be near SPRING Here!!!!

Looking at your lamps & photography. You have a gift, my friend! I bet trees follow you everywhere begging for a make-over. The birds seem to pose, as well!
