Kellogg is a beautiful area. We lived at Kamiah for five years, I loved the country there. Only moved back to Oregon cause I got real tired of 12 to 16 hours a day driving truck. I did get to know Montana, Idaho, and Washington pretty well though.

Also noticed that you live within a couple hours of my youngest daughter. She lives in Lancaster, Pa.

Careful, you are making me blush Julie

Checked out your new pictures of your grambabies. No doubt you are very proud. We are expecting our first one in august. Still have a hard time facing the reality of the word "Grandpa"

PS. You said you are going to Idaho. I lived over there for about five years. Loved the north central part of state where I lived.

    Hi Julie,

Thanks so much for your kind words. Been making rustic furniture full time for about the last 9 years.
Looks like you stay awful busy yourself.

Bought the paint, ready to kill the bath cabinet this week. I started the thread Wonderwomans kit in gen wdwrk forum to motivate myself to produce results! Is it normal to want it done BEFORE you even begin?!!! SH*t, I got upholster plans too. You keep reminding me of just how many irons there are in the fire! I don't want to think about it, OOh there go the headaches again! <giggle> Heather

I found this site for resin coating a bar top or a table, and I see alot more possibilies for it's use. The description doesn't give enough info using near water- sink/steam from dishwasher or heat. At least you know you can restore glass look by sanding on down the road.

Hey, sorry, I seemed to not answer one of your questions.
I always use a clear finish so as to let the beauty of the wood speak for itself!

    Thank you for the comments.
I am in the prosess of clearing out some smaller trees and they work perfect for what I need at the moment, trying to do a little clearing so that the older trees can continue to bloom and the deer really love having the space as cedar trees grow very low branches and they just dont care for it, brings them right on to the property, beautiful to watch year round!

As of today it's been a year since you sent me the reply regarding your table project. Well it was 2008. And your message was last year. Well that only proves I am lousy at answering messages. Well anyway I love the table, its looks real nice. I do agree with you on the finish, it looks new. Who wants a farm house table to look new. Heck when those tables first hit the market, by the time they road on a buggy from the market to the new owners house they were already beat up. Anyway you did a great job on your table. Keep up the great work. Handy

oh wow....i just replied to you to only have lost it due to taking too long! Thank u for reply....I have the top glued and used the biscuit joiner....1st time, i luv it....i plan to attach similar to your method (wedges) , however, i also plan to use 1x 3 oak to create an inner frame(apron) to further support my legs and to attach the table top to frame...i am thinking i will also use square nails through the top (pilot holes too) but just prior to nailing them in i will place some dark stain on the nails to permit an aged look of the metal bleeding into the oak....the legs i bought at a permanaent flea mkt and are somewhat aged looking too.....i appreciate the opportunity to converse with others about similar projects....i will eventually try to post pictures of my projects...hope u have a nice Thanksgiving .....CN
