    Hi Matt,
First time I've used this message thingie so I hope this is the way to reply to you. I have priced the biggest husqvarna CS here in Durban which including VAT will be R13200. That includes a 42" bar. A ripping chain will cost a further R505. A slabbing mill similar to the alaskan but sold by husqvarna is going to cost a further R6964. The price of the CS is not too bad but the slabbing mill price is a rip off IMO. I am am of the opinion that I should buy the chainsaw but import the ripping chains myself at a much lower price. As for the slabbing mill - no way will I pay nearly R7000. I intend going to a local engineering shop to build one for me once I get proper plans. The link you gave me may just be sufficient to give them an idea for a design! thanks for that. Will let you know of progress.
