I just brought to build a something and would like to know where can I find a book or chart that show what all the symbols mean on woodworking plans

Now that is a symbols. What type of symbols are you refering to?

There should be a legend with the plan that explains the symbols, unless they are commonly used drafting symbols. What are you having problems with ? (a picture would obviously help)
