Default Cane Chair Hole Layout

I am thinking about building a chair that has a caned back and seat. I was wondering if anyone knew of any templates or layouts for the holes?

I do not want to use pressed cane. When I was boy, my parents taught me how to cane and I want to start using that skill again.

Thanks for the help.

I have two 125+ year old caned seat chairs in the room with me. I just looked at the holes. There is nothing about the pattern that would require a template(pattern). The holes are equally spaced approximately 3/4 of an inch all around the seat. These particular chairs do not have a caned back, but I see no reason that a back would be any different than a seat.

Thanks George. That was kinda what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure and didn't have anything to look at to study.
