Default White Oak finish

Some one just told me about a finish for white oak called "fusion". I have never heard of this and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. It reminds me a little of the fuming with ammonia.

Yeah, sounds to me like someone misunderstood the word "fuming" and misinformed you. Be interested to see if you find out otherwise. I maintain a glossary of woodworking terms (www.hobbithouseinc.com/personal/woodpics/_glossary.htm) and don't have "fusion", which I think of as having to do with atomic bombs. :-)

Well, on the one hand.... the white oak would be "finished" at least.

Default Yeah, I don't think so

I don't think white oak has enough radioactive isotopes for "fusion", just my guess however. Otherwise a lot of stuff made from it would be glowing in the dark. bill

Yuck ... stuff appears to be for plastic. I'd rather use the bomb.
