Semi-Gloss over Matte?

I have done some finishing on a project - used General Finish Arm-R-Seal. I started with Matte, but now I'm thinking that a semi-gloss may look better. Could I just go right over the top with the semi-gloss?

Scuff sand with 320x and you can apply over the previous application if it's cured.

You will still have a matte finish, it will just have a shiny surface. The flattening paste in the first coat will still be there and will haze the finish up more than a first coat of a higher sheen.

Measure Twice Cut Once -- It's a lot easier to cut more off then it is to cut MORON.
Finishing is 3 parts chemistry and 1 part VooDoo http://lrgwood.com

You can put the semi gloss over the matte. If it has cured you will need to sand it to scuff up the surface. It will look better if you remove the matte finish and apply the semi gloss in its place.
