Default Resource for good quality vinyl (faux) wood finish veneers?

Greetings, I am redoing my loft kitchen to mimic a coffee bar, and while I've been using genuine wood veneers for the focal point areas in this project, I'm also wanting to apply (faux finished wood) vinyl veneer to other less traffic background areas. Regular contact papers which are available at most department stores, just don't seem to measure up against what I imagine is available. Formica is a bit too cumbersome and costly for my needs. In the past I've observed at various business locations displays and paneling which had been surfaced with thin faux wood grain vinyl veneers which were far more realistic in appearance than what you can find with contact paper. Does anyone have any knowledge or know where I might could find these type of veneers for my project? I've considered checking with my local Sherwin Williams wallpaper department, but wanted to post the question here first and see if I had any luck. Thank you for reading. Charles

Melamine I think may make what you seek. Try a laminate supplier that sells Formica, Wilsonart, etc., not big box.
