Default removing white stains

I know this is pobably a FAQ, but I have a lovely old oak table with several old white stains under the varnish from someone setting unprotected hot tea pots directly on the wood. Is there an easy way to remove these stains. I seem to remember reading about some but these are lost in the antiquity of my mind.

Thanks,

thfay

If the wood isn't damaged under the finish (probably shellac) the white rings are usually water vapor trapped under the finish. The fastest cure is to lightly(barely touch) wipe with a small amount of alcohol.
