Default Refinishing black dining room table

I am looking at a job right now that is an antique dining table black finish high gloss with a coat of wax polished on. The customer wants it refinished also in black but thier main concern is duribilaty the first thing that came to mind was a pigmeted black conversion varnish sprayed on. The goal of this project is to combine a gloss antigue look with something that won't show a ring when a hot coffee cup is put down on it.

Use a 2K polyurethane (wet look) Will have fantastic durability and shine real nice.

Check with a tech rep (not salesman) for the product you are using. Most manufacturers dont recommend conversion varnish for any wood that has been previously coated even though it was stripped off. Another alternative is Black Catalyzed or pre-catalyzed lacquer.
